Complete overview of week 3

Last week was another week filled with lots of activities, including the enjoyable ones and also the tests.

Sunday, July 17 I spent my day wandering around Vieux-Québec, which is the old part of the city that is walled in.  I did some shopping and explored a little bit.  It was a very enjoyable day.

Monday, July 18 was very uneventful also where I went to class, and then later in the afternoon I had my dance class.  In dance class we continued working on our dance for the show at the end of the program.  I think I also did lots of "adulting" by washing my clothes.

Tuesday was a lot more eventful than the day before because I had two activities to do.  The first one was a cooking workshop that I signed up for.  It is one of the free activities that they were offering for that day.  We had a recipe in French for the French dish of Ratatouille.  As a workshop, we first went through the recipe.  Then they broke us up into small groups and we had to  work together in order to complete a task on the recipe except they gave us maladies, such as I could not walk, one person could only use their right hand, another could only use their left, and one person was blindfolded. While the food was cooking we played a game where we were learning kitchen vocabulary, and after that it was "Bon Appétit!"

That evening I did another activity that I had paid for, and that was canoeing.  We got to take canoes out on the Saint Charles River for the evening.  We were broken up into teams of 5 and because I had done it before, I got to be a team leader, which meant that I had to sit in the back and direct the canoe.  We paddled for a really long time and along the way we hit some trees, got rained on, saw a rainbow, and laughed a lot.  When we finally arrived at the island we got to take a bit of a break and sit down and eat some dinner.  (I had brought along a PB&J.)  On the way back we hit less trees, and by the time we got done I was exhausted.  We arrived back just as it started getting dark.  So overall Tuesday was a very fun day.

Wednesday, July 20 my tests began.  I had the writing and reading test along with my phonetics test all that morning.  They were very stressful but I got them done.
After my tests I decided to go to the mall in order to buy some cards in order to send out for birthdays and such.  So after I bought the cards I had to find out where I could send them.  I was wondering around for a while until I was able to find the one.  I looked up the address online and it told me that there was one in the one mall...well that mall is huge.  Apparently a lot of post offices here are inside of stores, such that this one was inside of a pharmacy inside of the mall.  Oh well... Now I know.  After finding the post office I did some grocery shopping because, believe it or not, the grocery store is part of the mall too.
What a Wednesday that was!

Thursday was another exciting day beginning with another test that was speaking.  After that was reading and listening comprehension. The speaking was super-hard and very unrealistic with the things they asked us to say in a real-life situation.  Oh well, I tried my best.

Thursday afternoon was pretty exciting to take away the stress from the tests that I had in the morning.   I signed up for a free activity that was called a "Guided Tour of the Planes of Abraham."  First we went to a museum where we learned about the battles that happened in Canada, leading up to the battles on the Planes of Abraham.  Then we went outside to see the battlefields.

Thursday night I went to a movie that the program was offering. The movie was about the strongest man in the world, Louis Cyr, who is from Québec and lived in the late 1800s, early 1900s.

Friday I hung out with some friends for the night, and Saturday was a day of rest because I did so much this past week.

I have almost completed my 4th week here as well and have a lot more stories to post, coming within the next few days.  ☺
